Online PayPal Registration Opens - Friday, January 17 – Monday, February 3, 2025 at 5pm:
Entries Accepted at Blaines Art Supply - Week of February 10, 2025:
Judging Held - Friday, February 21 – Sunday, March 2, 2025:
Winning and Selected for Exhibition Photos will be on Display throughout the Midtown Mall - Monday, March 10 – Sunday, March 30, 2025:
Photos Available for Pick-Up at Blaines Art Supply
- Download and fully read the photo contest rules and entry form above!
- Make sure your photo is IN FOCUS (unless it’s clearly an artistic choice that enhances the photo)
- Photos must be a MINIMUM of 80 square inches (8″ x 10″, 5″ x 16″, etc.) but they can take up the entire white board for a maximum size of 16″ x 20″
- Don’t enlarge your photo too much if it becomes grainy and takes away from the quality
- Choose your photo category carefully. What is the MAIN FOCUS of your photo?

- Animals – Pets and animals in captivity
- Creative – A classification of photographic manipulation done AFTER the photo is taken – such as solarization, abstract printing techniques, multiple exposures, etc. Not based on photographic composition.
- Flowers – Any flower in the state of Alaska. Does not include: trees, mushrooms, leaves, etc.
- Fur Rondy – Shots capturing the spirit and fun of the Fur Rendezvous Winter Carnival
- People – Formal and informal studies of people
- Scenic – Including seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, auroras, etc. (in which the scenery is the main focus of the photograph)
- Sports – Action shots of your favorite indoor/outdoor sports
- Wildlife – Any wild animal in the State of Alaska. Not taken in captivity.
- Unclassified – Other than the above categories
