Online registration will open on Monday, January 12 for the 2026 Fur Rondy Photo Contest
- Download and fully read the photo contest rules and entry form above!
- Make sure your photo is IN FOCUS (unless it’s clearly an artistic choice that enhances the photo)
- Photos must be a MINIMUM of 80 square inches (8″ x 10″, 5″ x 16″, etc.) but they can take up the entire white board for a maximum size of 16″ x 20″
- Don’t enlarge your photo too much if it becomes grainy and takes away from the quality
- Choose your photo category carefully. What is the MAIN FOCUS of your photo?

- Animals –Pets and captive animals
- Creative – A classification of photographic manipulation done DURING or AFTER the photo taking process – such as compositing, abstract printing techniques, adding special events, intentional camera movement, etc.
Not based on photographic composition. - Flowers – Flowers only (does not include: trees, mushrooms, leaves, etc. – those should go in Unclassified)
- Fur Rondy – Shots capturing the spirit and fun of the Fur Rendezvous Winter Carnival
- People – Formal or candid
- Scenic – Seascapes, landscapes, cityscapes, auroras, etc. (in which the scenery is the main focus of the photograph)
- Sports – Indoor or outdoor action shots
- Wildlife –Wild animals only (no captivity)
- Unclassified – Anything not listed above
FINAL CHECKLIST — REVIEW BEFORE DROPPING OFF
This checklist is provided as a guide to help ensure all contest rules have been followed prior to submission.
☐ My photo was taken IN ALASKA after January 1, 2025
☐ My photo is suitable for all audiences (G-rated)
☐ My photo is at least 80 square inches (e.g., 8”×10” or larger)
☐ My photo is mounted on a 16” × 20” WHITE foam core board
☐ My entry is not framed, matted, glass-covered, and has no mounting hardware attached
☐ There are no names, titles, or watermarks visible on the front of my entry
☐ I have drawn an UP arrow on the back of the foam core for hanging direction
☐ I am entering no more than 5 Color and 5 Black & White photos
☐ A fully completed and signed entry form is securely attached to the back of each entry
☐ My entry fee or online payment receipt is securely attached to the back of each entry
☐ I am submitting my entry by 5:00 PM on Monday, February 2, 2026
